I... read more went with my husband, we had never surfed before, and my biggest regret was not booking for a longer period of time (except my arms probably would have protested quite a bit at that).
Ramse was great at explaining some basic safety and tips for balance and standing up on the board. What I loved most though was that he didn't waste too much time on that on land and we went out to the water pretty quickly. It was so much fun, we were exhausted but as soon as we started walking back after the class was over, we couldn't stop talking about when we'd be coming back.
NOTE: be aware that weather can change your booking time, so make sure to have some flexibility with days you are available

I not only refreshed my initial skills, but I furthered to a more advanced level. Ramses was great at calling when waves would be ready, and I felt very comfortable. He made the surfing experience easy and fun. My friend went out for her first time. She loved it and became a natural with his help. She is now hooked! He went over the basics and additional tips. My boyfriend and I both had one of the best days of our... read more lives because of this experience. Although we only surfed for a few hours, the memory will stay with me my whole life. My one regret is not going longer because by the end of the session I did not want to stop.

What was different about Ramses was that he is a true surfer and has a love for the sea- it is clear that it is more than just a “job”he has a talent and wants to share that with others so that they can experience the joy surfing brings. He not only knew how to teach but also gave us key insight into how to stay safe and adjust to different waves. I realized in those moments how lucky we were to have the opportunity to learn from Ramses because I knew he would be monitoring the ocean to help us stay safe. This opened up my mind to learn more as opposed to being held back from fear.

I truly was not expecting to stand up at all since it was my first time, and because of Ramses’ coaching I am proud to say I shocked myself and not only stood up but rode the whole wave. As the time went on Ramses’ adjusted his coaching style and helped me learn when to stand without being prompted.

The hours I spent in the water learning to surf with Ramses are truly treasured. I highly recommend this to people who want to learn from someone who really loves what he does. Out of everything, one of the greatest parts was not only how I felt but seeing my boyfriend so ecstatic.
